Hey everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself and explain the purpose of this blog a little bit. My name is Maryn Jean Grover, I am 18 and I just left home in Gilbert Arizona to come to college here in Rexburg and I could not be more excited. I am known to be creative, passionate, a little stubborn, and nurturing. My favorite color is green, I love the mountains, and I hate the texture of velvet. I'm in love with music. During high school I took the most choir classes you could ever take. My senior year my first three hours were all choir and I loved it! I did a vocal coaching program at my school where I got to teach younger girls and help them grow into their voices for three years. Singing and music was one of the only things that fully made sense to me. I also love weightlifting at the gym, cooking/baking, and drawing, and when I'm not doing those things, I am with my best friend, Trinity. Now that you know me a little better, this blog is going to be about my perspective and the things that I learn and take away from my Family Relations class. I already love my teacher and this assignment so I'm sure I will be posting a lot.

Since this blog is about family relations, I will introduce you to mine. I was brought to this earth on May 21, 2004, in Littleton Colorado by two loving parents, Eric and Janine. I am the oldest of 5. After me there is my wild brother Caleb (16), then there is my very clever brother Joshua (14), and last but not least there is my crazy brother Adam (11). I love my brothers so much. It's never boring with them. When I was about nine, my parents made the decision to get divorced. I remember being sad at the time, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Now I have a stepdad named Nathan, and a very sassy half-sister named Ruthie (6). Ruthie is a real character that loves to boss around my brothers and I, dance, and sing at the top of her lungs any chance she gets. There are many challenges to having a mixed family, but we figure them out. I named this blog "Family For Reals" because my mom blogged for many years of my life about our family and life as a mom. She named it "For Reals" because it's a phrase I would say as a kid. I look back at that blog all the time. I love reading what my mom wrote about and looking at the amazing pictures she took of me and my brothers in our early years of life. I hope you all enjoy what I have to say, and if you don't, that's ok too.
